Shipping settings

The Online Store supports shipping options worldwide and also gives you the flexibility to choose your shipping provider. There are three different shipping calculations available:

  • Flat rate: Set a flat shipping rate, or specify free shipping.
  • Custom table: Customize your shipping costs by weight, number of items or cart total.
  • Carrier-calculated: Automatically calculate costs based on carrier rate tables.

Before setting up shipping, you will want to create destination zones. Destination zones are used for shipping rules that apply to a specific geographical area. For example, if you would like to create two different shipping rates, one for your country and one for all other countries, you need two zones, one with only your country and the other one with all other countries.

  1. Go to Shipping & Pickup and click Zones
  2. Set up Zones depending on your plans to sell internationally.
  3. Click Add new zone and customize the zone settings.
  4. Add Region, State, or Zip code where you plan to ship.
  5. Once done, click Save.

You can manage shipping settings to get more precise rates. Here’s how you do this:

  1. Go to Shipping & Pickup to the Shipping settings section and click Shipping origin information.
  2. Enter the address from where you will be shipping your orders.
  3. Click Save to confirm changes.

You can add new shipping methods which you plan to use in your store. Choose to deliver your products using the most popular carriers and enable customers to pick up products in your physical location.

To add a new carrier, click the Add shipping method button. On the next page, you will have an option to choose a carrier which is added automatically based on your store’s location.

  • Choose the suggested carrier and set up Free shipping, Flat rate or set up Custom rates.
  • Set up a local delivery
  • Set up another carrier: enter the name of the carrier that you would like to set up.

Tip: you can click View all carriers link to see the full list of carriers supported by Online Store.

If you deliver goods from another country, you can set up an address from where your goods are actually shipped. To customize this address, click on Change country link.

On the next page, you can enter the alternative address from where the orders will be fulfilled.

Once done customizing, click Save.

You can customize the details where your customers can pick up their orders. To do this, navigate to Add pickup option and enter your store address and working hours.

You can also ask customers to specify when they will be picking items up. To do this:

  1. Check the Ask for pickup date and time at checkout toggle. Enter your business hours.
  2. Customize the Order fulfillment time. Click on the link and choose the option that you want the customer to see. Once done customizing, click Add Pickup Option to confirm changes.

With free rate shipping, you can offer free shipping. This may increase conversion and boost sales. Free shipping also applies to digital goods you are selling.

To begin, first create a Destination Zone:

  1. Go to Shipping & Pickup > Zones.
  2. Click +Add New Zone.
  3. Enter a name for the zone, i.e. United States.
  4. Click Add Country.
  5. Select the country/countries from the list.
  6. Click Add Countries.
  7. Repeat for regions, states, and zip codes as needed.
  8. Click Save.

Once you have a zone, you can set up shipping.

To create a free shipping method:

  1. Go to Shipping & Pickup > Shipping & Pickup
  2. Click the +Add Shipping Method button.
  3. Choose the carrier you want to customize, for example, Royal Mail.

  5. Click Set up Free shipping.

  7. Give this method a name, for example, Free shipping.
  8. Click Delivery speed and set a delivery speed by entering a number of business days.
  9. Choose which zone this rate applies to, and if necessary, click Create new link to add a new destination.
  10. When you’re finished, click Save & Finish.

If you have one method, but would like to offer different shipping rates (e.g. one for your country, and one for other countries), you need to configure two zones. Once you have your zones set up, it’s easy to specify shipping costs per zone.

Tip: If you want to offer free shipping to all customers near your store, create a new zone with your country, state and zip code. This means that each condition you have for shipping should have a zone.

With flat rate shipping, you can set a flat shipping rate, or specify free shipping.

Go to Shipping & Pickup > Shipping & Pickup

  1. Click the +Add Shipping Method button.
  2. Choose the carrier you want to customize, for example, Royal Mail.

  4. Click Flat rate. Give this method a name, for example, Standard delivery.

  6. Click Shipping rate & delivery speed.
  7. Set a shipping rate by entering the shipping cost as either a flat amount or flat percentage of the total price.
  8. Set a delivery speed by entering a number of business days.
  9. Choose which zone this rate applies to, and if necessary, click Create new link to add a new destination.
  10. When you’re finished, click Save & Finish.
